Hi all!

Recently rediscovered Air Video HD after using the older version of the app many years ago. I bought both the Apple TV and the iOS version last night. It's literally almost exactly what I was looking for with the exception of a few minor bugs and a few small areas it could be improved.

Most of all, I want cover art! But let me say that I HATE apps like Plex that scrape cover art from external websites, because all too often it is WRONG for me. Maybe it's my 'obscure' British comedy series, I dunno.

I seriously would love a very simple option where I can include a JPG of the cover that sits alongside the movie file. For example…

My_Obscure_TV_Show.mkv
My_Obscure_TV_Show.jpg

Simple. Done. I'm totally OCD enough to go out and find the cover for *every single one* of my shows and movies. It's something I only need to do once, and I know it would be 100% correct. This also gets around having to read any cover metadata from the file itself.

Please tell me why this is a bad idea.

Thanks!

It's being worked on  (no sarcasm intended).

Good to hear! Would also be nice to let the end users create 'folder' images using the same method above, i.e of a cover art or custom image they feel represents the folders contents.

Documentaries...

    Documentaries.jpg

    Planet_Earth

    Cosmos

etc etc

Any update at all?  I just want the simple cover art option where it looks in the video file directory for a .jpg file and display it. Seems like that would be fairly easy coding! :) I use "Preview.jpg" for my cover art (An apple front row carry over).

I agree. It's literally all I need. Don't care about any fancy metadata. Literally growing a beard while waiting here…
