    • More reliable recovery on device failure

  • Fixed missing audio during ChromeCast playback on Nexus and other android based devices

  • Fixed PCM audio playback for some matroska files

  • Better compatibility with Apple TV 4

  • General playback improvements

Download for Mac OS X (universal)

More information about hardware acceleration can be found here.

EDIT: Update 32 bit windows build to u1, which fixes playback of large files (64bit is unaffected).

Sorry about that. I accidentally linked to beta1 for windows builds, which was not public. Fixed now.

“Air Video Server HD” can’t be opened because the identity of the developer cannot be confirmed.

OS X 10.11.3 (15D21)

I just double checked the code signature, there's nothing wrong with it. Either something is wrong with code signature verification on your computer, or the file was modified during/after download. You can launch the application by right clicking on it and choosing open, this should let you override the signature check, but it's still weird.

The 64bit version would likely perform better on 64bit windows, also depending on number of clients the 32bit memory space limit may be relevant.

The 64-bit version seems to have a memory leak issue.  I have two different machines with the same version installed and both will slowly consumed more and more memory until the app crashes itself.  However, 32-bit version seems fine though.  I have all three machines updated to 2.2.3b2 (two for 64-bit and one for 32-bit) about 24 hours ago and the two with 64-bit version both crashed once due to excessive memory usage.  Should I generate logs?  Thanks!

Update1: 64-bit just crashed again. Windows was asking me to close AirVideoHD Server to save memory as the app crashed.

Update2: 32-bit just crashed as well.

Some system info:

Machine 1:

CPU: Intel 4770k

RAM: 16GB

MB: Gigabyte Z87N-WIFI

OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit

Machine 2:

CPU: Intel 4790k

RAM: 16GB

MB: Gigabyte Z97X Gaming G1

OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit

I've experienced the same with perfecblue.  I got back to my Windows 10 machine to have a high memory warning to kill the process.  It was above 7gigs - it didn't kill itself just yet but obviously more usage than it should.  I'm using the 64bit version 2.2.3-beta2, latest VLC, and used on a local lan. i've watched many ~30min videos in succession, selecting different audio tracks within each video if that helps (commentary / 5.1 standard, etc).

Having the same problem with memory in x64 version 2.2.2 and 2.2.3 . It crashes due to a memory problem.

I have the same issue with the AirVideo HD server. I had to kill it, it had 12 Gigs of memory which is not right. I have seen instabilities in the combination of Windows 10 and AirVideo HD server. I guess not releasing memory is why.

@cosmoxl Are you using the task manager to check the memory allocated to the Air Video HD background processes?

I have windows 10 home, but I would like to believe that is not the reason for the difference. ;-)

it's a beta so i dont mean this actual release, but please hire another developer or two.  the time between critical updates, PiP/iOS 9 support, and requested features is beginning to be very frustrating.

of course.  when having to transcode mpeg2 recorded TV it uses about 650MB of RAM and another 1 GB of virtual memory.  for me that's not a problem.  no hints of crashing that I've seen.

Agreed. I don't even bother to check for a new version within 3 months. I accepted this. As of current version, it does most of what it promises. So I don't have high expectations from the future :)

Minutes ago i´ve trying with old version 2.0.2.

Transcoding BDRemux movie to 720p it consumes around 300 MB of RAM.

Beta 2.2.3 consumes 1 GB.

Normal people don´t have 16GB of RAM and stuff like that , so i think for people like me the change in the way Air Video works it´s a big problem.
