I did a very throughout test of several hundred different video files and could not find any obvious bugs, whatsoever, when playing them back on my iPhone 5s or the AppleTV 3 (2013).

Not yet on iOS 8.3 / AppleTV 7.2 though, I plan to test both updated this weekend and report back.

I have a question, when you say you are using this on your AppleTV, are you referring to AirPlay via iOS? or is there some other method that I am not aware of?

I'm pretty sure it's AirPlay.

Of course, all tested via Airplay.

@admin:
Is there an ETA when you're going to introduce the new profiles (e.x. 20mbit), max. ref. frames, etc., yet?

Since AirVideoHD is very stable now (can't find more bugs), I am getting a bit anxious to test more features. :D

BTW, foo86, the dcadec developer (free and open source DTS and DTS-HD decoder i linked to you) now wrote a wrapper for ffmpeg and it seems that it will get integrated into ffmpeg and libav soon. It now supports every format and type of DTS accurately. It's the most accurate decoder that is currently available (even better than some commercially sold decoders (e.x. from ArcSoft), without taking the original decoders from DTS into account, of course. Hope this will get integrated into AirVideoHD soon so we can transcode from even higher quality sources.

I added 15 and 20mbit/s presets and enabled 16 ref frames on A7 and A8 devices, it should be in next client update. Don't have ETA yet, need to finish chromecast support first.

Did you encounter problems with pre-A7 devices like the A6 or A5? The AppleTV 3 with it's A5 worked flawlessly on my side with everything I tested.

Let me know once you got a beta ready to test.

This fixed my problem with compatibility with Mac OSX 10.6.8 on Core 2 Duo Mac Mini.

I did. But that was pre iOS 8. I just tried your placebo sample on 4S and it does play indeed.

So it looks like 16 ref frames is a go on all devices. However PAFF streams still don't play on A7 and A8. In next update transcoding will be forced for PAFF streams. I don't see any way around this.

Great, thanks a lot!

Does the 2.1.2-beta1 already include that? I have some time to test tomorrow.

It will need both 2.1.2 server and next client update. I should be submitting client update for review over the weekend.

Quick question: I'm running AVHD Server 2.1.1 beta 2 (64bit) and when I check for updates it says I have the latest version even though on the website I can download v2.1.3 (32bit)... what's up with that? Also, where can I download the 64bit version?

It would be great if you can add a link to download the 64bit version from the main page : - )

Thanks in advance!

It should be pushed through automatic updates soon. We're just doing some more testing.

The versions before had the same name, he just adapted the URL to 2.1.3-x64. Since admin said they were still testing, I am not sure why it's already available. That probably means they finished testing, otherwise uploading it beforehand could lead to problems which may already be resolved.
