Of course, when you close the window ssh, the process is killed, use scripts to automatically run the previous page

Hello!
Debian GNU/Linux 7.8 (wheezy) & vlc-nox 2.0.3 is generates errors like this:
[0x4316558] inhibit interface error: Failed to connect to the D-Bus session daemon: Using X11 for dbus-daemon autolaunch was disabled at compile time, set your DBUS_SESSION_BUS_ADDRESS instead

dbus daemon started and available in  /var/run/dbus/system_bus_socket

Should I use vlc with X11 instead vlc-nox?

To  gers1978,

add nohup in front of your command.    ( nohup - run a command immune to hangups )

nohup bash start.sh

or

cd /your_avhd_folder/

nohup ./start.sh

I am running this in an Ubuntu Server 14.04.2 LTS VM.

I have it setup with 3 users and 3 folders.

The issue I am having is that it seems only one person can access it at a time. The first person to connect can play whatever they want the others get errors when trying to access it.

The error is "Playback failed for "filename""

The operation could not be completed

The above error is displayed on the Idevice. The server doesn't show any errors or anything at all really. Sometimes it shows something in the terminal window when someone starts to stream something sometimes it doesn't.

Hi, Me too is having some problems with airvideo HD after upgrade of server.

I get the "Playback failed for 'filename'" "The operation could not be completed" on my ipad, and on the server I dont see any errors. The server starts up just fine, and no errors what so ever on the screen or in the logs. but the ipad just fades away and gives me the error. Any way for me to further troubleshoot?

the ipad client sees the server but no directory or files show up.

Video files are located at /home/dglancy/Videos

this folder is shared and belongs to Me

Trying to run the server on a Ubuntu 14.04 64bit.

I get the following when running ./start.sh

Hi,

There is any way to share (shareFolders variables) a smb mounted share from other file sharing server.

My current configuration is a Hyper-V server (where are the media files located) with one Windows VM client (old air video hd server) and another Linux Mint VM client (new air video hd server). In the current Windows configuration air video shares are linked to the hyper-v server network shares.

Any way to do that in linux? I already tried smb://xxx.local/share1 and smb:////xxx.local//share1 with or without quotas without any luck.

Thanks.

Perhaps the logical first mantirovat balls in a local file system, and only then prescribe the way in AirVideo. I at least do so. Contents I just kept on another machine than is installed AirVideo

# cat /etc/fstab
//192.168.1.223/torrent /mnt/Torrent cifs credentials=/root/.smbcredentials,dir_mode=0777,file_mode=0777 0 0
//192.168.1.223/films /mnt/Films cifs credentials=/root/.smbcredentials,dir_mode=0777,file_mode=0777 0 0
# cat AirVideoServerHD-2.1.3/Server.properties

sharedFolders1.displayName = Фильмы
sharedFolders1.path = /mnt/Films/Best

sharedFolders2.displayName = Сериалы
sharedFolders2.path = /mnt/Films/Сериалы

sharedFolders3.displayName = Torrent
sharedFolders3.path = /mnt/Torrent/

sharedFolders4.displayName = Аниме
sharedFolders4.path = /mnt/Films/Аниме

sharedFolders5.displayName = Новинки
sharedFolders5.path = /mnt/Films/Новинки

I'm sorry, some of the resources I have called in Russian

Hi, I just installed Air Video Server on an Ubuntu 14.04 machine and it is not showing up on my network. I suspect because my PC is a bit unique, in that it has two Ethernet interfaces on it. The first, eth0, is attached to an internal test network, and the second interface, eth1, is the one that's connected to my actual home network/wireless/etc. I suspect that Air Video is only using the first interface (eth0, attached to my test network.) Is there any way to force Air Video Server to use a specific network interface, or just broadcast on all available networks? Thanks!

It should use all available interfaces.

This works perfectly except when I open some folders, it crashes. I've installed VLC and it works perfectly in some folders.

I'm running Ubuntu 14.04 and Air Video 2.13.  I keep getting a "Communication Error - error occurred while communicating with server: [null] from an Ipad

When I start the server on my linux box I get:

(AirVideoServerHD:11677): GStreamer-WARNING **: External plugin loader failed. This most likely means that the plugin loader helper binary was not found or could not be run. You might need to set the GST_PLUGIN_SCANNER environment variable if your setup is unusual. This should normally not be required though.

I've used the gst-inspect to check the gstreamer plugins and they're there so, not sure what to do now.  Thanks for your help.

Can someone please let me know if this will work?  (more than 2 shares?)

Being a long time user of AirVideo, I've now made the trasition to AirVideoHD

I'm currently running on Ubuntu 14.04 x64, AirVideoHD server version 2.1.3, VLC version 2.1.6 Rincewind (2.1.6-0-gea01d28)

Most files/formats do play - but I can't get WMV to play in AirVideoHD.

The same WMV-file does however play in VLC.

Anyone have any suggestions on what to try?

Snip from Transcoding.Live log:

ERROR 01 transcoding.manager TranscodingManager.cpp:1272 -
Error creating transcoding session: Air Video Server HD is missing codec: Windows Media. Please see Air Video Server HD properties, this can most likely be resolved.

Regards

c
