InMethod -

Could i recommend for the Air Video's implementation of metadata/cover art to utilize the one used by Pytivo and Stream Baby. The details are listed here - http://pytivo.source...ex.php/Metadata This standard allows for all the metadata/cover art to be stored in a subdir .meta to keep it clutter free. As an added bonus there a multiple applications to generate the metadata and would be great for x-ref available actors once/if a search capability is created.

Just downloaded this app a couple of days ago and after a quick google search i was lead to this forum.

This is EXACTLY what i am looking for....  Even the ability to read a jpg or png file stored within the folder as cover art would work nicely as well

+1 definitel. All medias have embedded thumbnails (posters) and all I get here are images from movies that do not speak to me at all...

I second that suggestion. It would be so good if it is possible to add custom thumbnails, and even, maybe, movie information.

One suggestion could basically be that;

if a JPG is present, with the same name as the movie, then this JPG were to be shown in the APP - same technique could be used for an ASCII based info-file; same name --> show contents if user clicks on a button.

I would assume that this could be implemented without much fuss - and would really up the quality of the app. :)

This would be great but why, as a first step, can't it just use the metadata that is already associated with the file if you have already added the appropriate information.  I use iVi to transcode mpg files I have exported from EyeTV, it finds and adds the relevant metadata and when then transfers to iTunes which can read this data appropriately.  When I transfer the file to Air Video HD however it won't display the metadata.  Transferring to "Infuse" and I can.

Admin, do you have any comments to this suggestion?

I find it to be a fairly small change to a great program - a change which will not only improve it's competiveness but also the overall experience and usabilty of the software immensely.

Thanks! :)

Adding another vote begging for this feature.  Many of us spend hours tagging our video libraries and it would be fantastic if our favourite video streaming app made use of our efforts for the default thumbnail.

Actually perhaps the client would read any contents in the folder called AlbumArt.jpg and make it as the folder AlbumArt would be AWESOME!!!!
